Guide for how to create a new user for the POS terminal
From the side menu in Munu portal, navigate to “Administrasjon” (1) > “Brukere” (2). This will give you overview of all current users with access to your property either it is a user for POS terminals or Munu Portal.
To create a new user click “Opprett bruker” (3) in the top right corner. A creation window with fields will show and we distinguish what fields that are relevant by what type of users you are creating. Munu Portal user (1) or POS terminal only user (2)
Creating a new user for POS terminal - Username (brukernavn) entered will be username displayed in logs and by default on the sales receipt from POS terminal. For this type of users password fields are not relevant, more on the personal login under identification. Press “Opprett” when all the sections shown in picture contains a value.
<aside> 💡 Best practice for username for POS user is recommended to be first name and first letter of last name.

After creation of either type of user you need to access the user to complete the creation, this is done by pressing the username. From this view the key essential information to filled in for a user is their role (roller) and identification (POS terminal users).
Role (roller)
This is the option to control the privilege a user get in the system. There will be a predefined set of roles, with set of privileges defined for each one, available for selection and a user can have more than one role if necessary. The predefined options available is:
Administrator - All rights on POS and Portal
Ansatt - Basic rights, no discount privilege or portal access
Leder - Access to portal (Customer clients, reports and administration), all rights on POS
To assign a role to the user, select the one(s) you want and move it from the left box to the right by double clicking on the role or using the arrows between the boxes(1). Press “Lagre endringer” (2)
Identifikasjon (identification) To define a login for the user, relevant for all users having access to the POS terminal, go to “Identifikasjon” and press opprett (create). Mandatory fields to be filled out are the “Active From”, “Pin Number” and “Status”. The pin code need to be a value of 4 or 6 digits. Press “Opprett” to finish the creation.
<aside> 💡 It is optional to select an Active to date, but if you have e.g seasonal workers which only have access for a limited time this will help you block the user from accessing the POS terminal after their employment is over.
